Which qualification do I need to work in a nursery?
Employers and regulators set their own requirements. Level 2 and Level 3 early years qualifications are common — confirm with your setting and local authority guidance.
Does this qualification register me with Ofsted?
Completing a diploma does not automatically register you as a provider or childminder. Registration is a separate process with Ofsted or CIW.
Do I need a placement?
Early years occupational qualifications may require suitable workplace access for competence evidence. See the NQual or awarding-body specification on your course page.
Can I study childcare online?
Learning and tutor support are online; practical competence evidence is gathered in an approved setting where the specification requires it.
